Levkarest Chat Rules
Book Rulings
Here you can find special rulings on feats, prestige classes and other items presented in books used for the chat. We are presently using the PHB, DMG, MM and any of the published 3rd edition Ravenloft Books.
Dungeon Master's Guide
Prestige Classes: The following are not available for use.
Dragon Disciple
Red Wizard
Thaumaturgist
Custom Magic Items: These may be created under the rules presented in the book but all such items require the approval of the team before they can be made.
The Monster Manual
Lycanthropes: In the chat we will not be allowing afflicted lycanthropes to become Aware. Thus they will never have control in beast form but also have no risk of loosing their alignment Instead it will be possible to take the Control Shape Skill when the character learns that the curse has taken hold of them and they try to keep it contained.
Ravenloft Player's Handbook:
Feats: The following few have special requirements.
Cold One: This requires either a character history submitted to the DM team before sanctioning or it may be acquired during play.
Ghost Sight: This must be acquired during play.
Reincarnated: Any player's Soul Mate must be another player character.
Voice of Wrath: Currently not allowed.
Skills:
Hypnotism: To begin play with ranks in this skill your character would need to have been raised in a Cultural Level 8 or 9 society. The other possibility is to have grown up in a city with an established asylum. During play ranks can be gained after finding a PC or NPC willing to teach the methods. This skill can also be used to treat failed Horror checks.
Special Items:
Curses: May be allowed if deemed appropriate by the DM team.
Innocence: Characters may choose to start as Innocent per the Ravenloft Player's Handbook but this requires a written character history to be submitted to the DM team before the character is sanctioned.
Magic Rating: We will not be using this optional rule
Weaknesses: We will not be using the weaknesses described for each class
Firearms: The following are modifications of the presented firearms rules. Within the first range increment firearms are treated as a Ranged Touch Attack (Within 50 ft. for a pistol, within 150 ft. for a musket). Firing or reloading while threatened provokes an Attack of Opportunity.
